Hello everyone!

I've been pondering this question for a while and wanted to see what others thought and if anyone had any suggestions.

I am an engineering student who minored in Medicine & Society and I have a strong passion for medical ethics including end-of-life decisions, patient-doctor relationships, equal medical treatment across diverse groups, etc. I think through my minor I have showcased this passion by writing a plethora of different papers on these subjects and I think it is a large part of what makes me unique.

I applied to a couple different internships with ethics committees at hospitals and during my interview they all loved my papers and were impressed how I was an able to combine my engineering with my understanding of these issues (ultimately, I did not get the internships because I didn't have experience in case writing).

The problem is, I am never sure about how to convey this in my application to med schools. I have wanted to turn in some of these papers I've written but there is no space to on apps. In some apps there is a space for writing samples, but on AACOMAS that is pretty much our personal statement.

SO, is the only way to showcase these writings and thereby my passion for medical ethics through pursuing publishing? & hoping my personal statement conveys enough of my passion? Or has anyone heard of contacting the schools directly to turn in writing samples before?

Thanks so much!

This thread has convinced me that no premed is unique, unless we are in some unique pod together. I wrote about those exact three topics in my PS lol.

Maybe you can list your publications but there isn't really space to showcase them throughout the application cycle unless you launch a website and direct them to it somehow. That's an idea for ya.
