How to start shadowing advice!

How should I start career shadowing?? I want to do it over Christmas Break.

How do I start??

BTW, I do not have a personal optometrist....

I made a CV/resume with my contact information on it and just went around to all the optometrists in my neighborhood and asked if the doctor had a few minutes to talk to me. I told them that I was applying to opt school and that I was hoping to shadow them. I think it was at the 5th office that the doctor said yes~ i wanted to hug her bc it was such a long day. haha.

I was a member of my schools pre-optometry club, we had a list of optometrists in the area that were willing to allow people to shadow. if your school doesn't have a club or they dont have a list; I imagine that most optometrist wouldn't have a problem with it. They all went through the same motions as you and i'd hope that they would be personable enough to help you out.
