How to start your own club/society?!

Hii my fellow SDNers.

I am back after taking like a 2 week SDN hiatus.... my stress levels have definitely gone down while not being on this site 24/7, lolol.

Anyways, I have a question for you all..

Me and my roomie who is also pre-dental would really like to start a pre-dental club at our university. I believe I have a lot I could offer other fellow pre-dents, and ruin their lives by telling them about SDN and predents.com (tehe). That being said, I have no idea how you do this. Appear before the President and tell him, "HEY. I'd like to create a pre-dental society." .....😕

Anyone who has been through this before, would love your advice! I don't really know where to go from here.

1st: you need to talk to your student activities. They will answer every question that you have.

2nd: For my university, to create an organization, I have to find an advisor who is a faculty member (prof, someone who works full-time at my University) and 8 other students who will be your officers (president, vice etc.).


3rd: after you are done with all those, fill out some documents from student activities office. Wait for your approval.

4th: After your organization gets recognized, you have a lot of work to do: create a website, find member, funding, meetings etc... Phew... so many stuff

I have 2 organizations at my university. These things take a lot of time. Make sure you dont stop 1/2 way 🙂

My university basically gives you a stack of papers you fill out...Then it just gets approved if its something legit and you've got some interested people.
