Took the DAT Today (19AA, 19TS, 19 PAT) - Planning on retaking in around January or March (during winter or spring break)..

I did not use DAT Destroyer so I am planning on purchasing that after taking a MUCH NEEDED break for a while.

How do you recommend studying while in school? Should I do it on weekends or.. how should I do that

You're applying next cycle? Don't try to study while taking classes, particularly if you need to improve your GPA. That was my original plan last year, but it's too much (especially if you need a high score). Just take it in June or July of next year, if you can...you'll have more classes under your belt, and you'll have the time to focus on studying. You don't want to mess up on a retake.

Improving my GPA is a MUST - it is much lower than the averages. With that being said, I wanted to apply as soon as possible. Do you think it would be okay to apply with my 19 and say that I am retaking next summer?

I fairly sure that indicating a retake next summer wouldn't help you at all for this cycle but even indicating a winter/spring retake won't matter either because it would be way too late in the cycle. I'd suggest not indicating a retake (your DAT isn't bad!) and applying to a few privates and your in-state. If you get in, it would be a pleasant surprise. Over the next year, focus on your classes and if you don't get an acceptance, hammer out a great DAT in the summer and reapply early.

Oh! Then no worries, just take it in June or July. I took mine mid-July, submitted my application around the same time, and I have several interview invites already. Don't worry about the timing, so long as you get the DAT done prior to August you'll be fine. I believe Glimmer has a thread about the timing of application submission for summer retakers, so I'd suggest checking that out.
