will the new test test our understanding of the overarching themes of psychology or will it be more technical and test our knowledge of psychology terms and its socio-cultural history? I read the first two chapters of my Psych book--psychology next semester--and it seems that there is about as much content in Psych as in Bio. So should we tackle Psych with the same way as Bio? Thanks.

Best bet might be to read through the syllabus and some sample passages / questions:

Who knows, chances are if you take an intro, social, and abnormal psych course you should be set. But that being said they could test a lot of things in the section.

My advice: try to take the MCAT before 2015 to avoid the changes.

Eh, take it when you feel most comfortable, don't rush to take it because then you'll end up scoring worse than you would have otherwise. That being said, there are some talks about medical schools using alternative standardized tests in complementation to the mcat in 2015. I know LECOM has already started trying to link SAT scores to Med school performance in an attempt to reduce the bumpy transition and as some sort of fail safe in the new mcat proves to be even less correlated to success in medical school. Though I have no idea how that'll work out lol.

Why did you bump a thread not even an hour after posting? 👎

Just take psych courses and get a book when they come out. Don't worry about the mcat until you are at least in your sophomore year or whenever you have taken physics, chem, etc. it will just stress you out.
