Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has used Campbell's when they studied for the DAT and if it helped them. I will be taking mines in Jan and was hoping I could get some advice.

Thank you!

I used it two ways:

1) Twice during my review phase(7-5weeks out), I had what I called a consolidation day. I would go through all my class notes for bio I and go to parts of the book I was uncomfortable with. I did the same thing two weeks later for bio II (its nice to read through some of reproductive chapter), though, I never really made it through all of the chapters that were never covered in bio II at my university. It is not necessary whatsoever to go through the fungi, bacteria chapters, but if you are struggling on certain sections, textbooks tend to present information in a way that allows you to categorize it appropriately. From undergrad, I found that I learn extremely well from textbooks, and I thought the notes I made might benefit me down the road.

2) during my last 4 weeks, I went through the entire Dig, immune, and embryonic dev chapters taking notes. This was very helpful. I was prompted mainly by getting many destroyer/qvault questions wrong on immune/embryonic. Digestive just fascinates me, and I thought it would be fun.

I think Ari made a post to some powerpoint slides for campbell's chapters. I think this or coursenotes may suffice if you want to be thorough

One key for me is repeated exposure to information. One day I watched a youtube video, the other day I would take notes, the next I would review those notes. Breaking things up into little chunks over time helped me pack the information in and remember it. Understanding is not the hard part
