For females w/ long hair----6-7 inches below the shoulders....how should i wear it? half-way up? updo? leave it straight down?

Contacts or glasseS? Dont have contacts now, but might get some...

As far as glasses/contacts, I would just wear whatever you're comfortable. If you've never worn contacts, your interview might not be the best place to experiment. Also, bear in mind that if there is air conditioning, your eyes could get really dry. I've had problems with that before, and my eye gets all red and the lens pops out. Again, not so great.

My hair is not super-long, but it is past my shoulders. I was just planning on pulling it back into a low ponytail. I keep the natural part in my hair and use a little hairspray to make it smooth, and it looks nice. This is how I wore it during my committee interview, and I received compliments on my appearance so something must have worked. 🙂

stick with glasses since you're more comfortable with that.

also looking for opinions, for a guy who normally spikes up his hair, what should i do for interviews? it's medium length spikes not wild crazy spikes. i have alternatives but i'd rather spike my hair up if i can.

im sure spiking it up will be fine if its like im picturing 🙂 like a normal spiked up 'do, not like you're the lead singer of a punk band, right? 🙂

My hair was quite long when I interviewed. For half my interviews, I put it up in a braided bun. For the other half, when my hair outright refused to cooperate, I put it in a simple ponytail. I had good interviews and got acceptances regardless of how I wore my hair. 😉

In sum, so long as it's out of your face and neat, you're fine.

My hair is about 3" past my shoulders, but layered/thinned just enough so it won't go back nicely (my hair is VERY thick and layered/thinned out of necessity to avoid headaches). I'll be wearing it down unless they want to see helmet head made of bobby pins. 😀
