Hello everyone,

So I just got back from the ASHP mid-year meeting. It was a fantastic time and I spent the majority of it interviewing for the Rutgers University pharmacy fellowship programs. Everything went really well and I pretty much did the best I could have as far as the interviews went.

Now that I am back I am required to write a letter of Intent. I am having a hard time with the format and the overall direction in how I should write one. Getting this fellowship is really important to me and I don't want to mess it up.

If anyone could give me any tips or suggestions I would really appreciate it. I tried to find some examples online but I cant seem to find anything.

Thanks again.

Check the pharmacy residency/fellowship forum they might have some info there.

I have seen a lot of good ones and a lot of not so good ones. Different formats may work, but I am personally a fan of traditional business block format. As in, your info at the top, then date, then the adressee's info, the Dear XXX line. Then the paragraph about how excited you are to apply into the program and why, and paragraph about what you can offer to the company (make sure to hammer in some of the points you discussed during interviews, and also include something you have forgotten to say but that you think will make you stand out). Close with a recap again of why you are interested in this particular position, thank people for their time and say that you are hoping to hear from them soon. Finally, standard business-speak closure of your choice, your name.

No fancy fonts, please, as they freak me out (though that may just be me) and they are also harder on the eyes.

Good luck! 🙂

I am just wondering...if anyone has gotten phone calls or emails for Jan/Feb 2008 company on-site interviews for the Rutgers Industry Fellowship Programs?

Thanks! Best of luck to everyone who applied! :luck:
