how/when do we get out scores?
Started by amherstguy
they arrive via email. whichever acct you used to handle your NBME business. this is described on the NBME website. i learned this the other day myself because I wasn't sure. if i'm wrong, somebody please correct me.
I thought you could check your account on the nbme website on Wednesday morning (early, possibly) before the email is even sent out. I also could be wrong about this.
I think for the new exams, no matter when you took it, the earliest you could possibly get your scores back is mid july.
This has been answered several times in this forum in various places.
Per the USMLE website, scores will be out July 16 for all folks who took the new exam format between May 15 and "late June".

For anyone with experience, does the email actually contain your score or just alert you to check the website?
Thank you both. I want my score too.

any guess as to if the audio/visual questions will be the "experimental" questions?
Any chance that who did his exams on 30th June also gets the results on the 16th???
I'm wondering the same thing.

Seriously! Even if asked point blank, they won't give a straight answer.
Here's an email I sent them a few weeks ago:

Hello,
I noticed this item on your website:
"The target date for reporting Step 1 scores for most examinees testing from May 15 through late June will be Wednesday, July 16, 2008."
Does this statement mean that all students who took the reconfigured exam in late May/early June will NOT receive their scores until July 16th? Or are scores being released weekly, as usual?
Thank you for clarifying.

I figured it wouldn't be worth pushing my luck at that point.Dear houstoncfh,
Thank you for your email. Your understanding of the Step 1 July 16, 2008 target score release date announcement is correct.
Sincerely,
National Board of Medical Examiners
