so I have already applied to dental schools, and I'm a senior now taking anatomy, genetics, nutritional health science, and two writing classes. I went to the hospital due to some health reasons that I cannot state here, and found out that my thyroid glands are not working as the cause. And the nurse practitioner I saw sent me away to wait for a month for another blood test to be done to confirm the high level of TSH in my blood. She made a mistake here because she sent a message later that the reason why I'm having to wait for a month is because she thinks the bacterial infection that I had in October could have caused it. But that was from last year, not this year, so she saw the date incorrectly in my health record and made that decision. I'm having a lot of health issues now severely affecting my ability to do other things without any medicine. I am thinking of dropping my anatomy class which takes up most of my time this semester, because before I get the blood test redone and do further tests to confirm the reason why my TSH level is so high, there are going to be several exams in the class.
With the amount of time and effort required to do well in the class (I know it because before all this happened, I was putting about 3-4 hours a day studying for the class, and 12 hours a day 4 days before an exam) I have already dropped a class before..just once. and pretty recently. and it was biochem II class. If I keep my anatomy class, I know that the grades in the class would negatively affect my GPA, but as I am in the application process, I don't want to look bad.
How do you think dropping my anatomy class would affect me?

Sounds like you have a legit reason to drop

I agree too.
Things like this CAN be put on the AADSAS application or even can be brought up during the interview.

I agree, but you need to understand that not meeting a requirement is a reason for not getting an acceptance or worse, getting an acceptance rescinded.
Your situation is VERY understandable. However, you need to tell the school what is going on. Some schools will make an exception, others will require you to complete the courses before starting.
Call the schools, NOVA is very understanding, and tell them what is going on. They will give you their advice and give you specific instructions. A few drops is not a big deal when there are medical reasons involved.

I see.. so as long as I let them know what happened this semester, it should not be a problem. Even if I drop the class, I am re-taking the class for sure to graduate. I'll probably have medicine in my hand to help next semester too. But I know that on the AADSAS application website, there was a slot for you to write any academic disadvantage that you had. So in mid-nov, you can update your AADSAS application, but do you know if the disadvantage slot will re-open for edits and updates?

You'll be fine, admissions committees will understand. You can probably bring it up during your interview (if it's not too personal). Dental schools like when their applicants have to "overcome" something in pursuit of their goal.
