Howard interview was great. The lady who interviewed me was the Associate dean and she pretty said I was in. She asked me which other schools I am gonna interview at, and I after I told her, she is like, "no I am sure you would want to stay here". Later she said, "congraduations and I hope you will accept your admission offer". Also, something about scholarship... 😀

👍 omg... u are so lucky. Congrats! That would make me feel so much better if i knew right after the interview.

greeat jobb ggod lucck at howad.🙂

Congrats!! Are you african american? And can you share your stats?

Thanks

Gosh... you are so fortunate!! I wish you the best bro~

why is that hilarious? Are you making a generalization linking bad grammar and spelling to African americans?

do tell...........

no I am not making a generalization liking bad grammar and spelling to AA. I could be black myself right? It is just funny that she/he asked if this person was black and if that was the reason he/she was accepted before the official date. Don't u think that is funny?

Yep, yep. Congrats. It is really a great relief to know that you have been accepted to a dental school.

No, I don't think they're implying that. The other person automatically assumed the guy is AA because he interviewed at Howard and was unofficially accepted. I'm AA and didnt take offense to that being hilarious because it is. People who make stupid comments like that usually make me laugh..   What makes it even funnier is the fact that there were no AA males at the interview today.

Anyway, I also interviewed at Howard today. Although I didn't get that unofficial acceptance, I feel very confident (as did most of us there) that we will be receiving a fat envelope in a month.

Congrats ... which one were you? there were only 2 guys there today...

Thanks everyone.

I think we had a little talk after the interviews were over. Hint: I was asking the financial aid lady too many questions about scholarships and summer payment.

👍 thank you.... I just don't think that ppl should assume that if someone got accepted or favored that it is bc of their color. It makes me mad that some ppl feel the need to "lower" the standards only bc it is a person of color, so they can have some black kids at their school just for the sake of being "multi-cultural". That is why I thought the question was funny.... bc... yup many ppl feel that way.

People also shouldn't assume too much by what interviewers and admissions staff members say either. They may be saying you have great stats, not that you are informally accepted. Now and then, there is always someone who says that they were told they had great stats and would most likely get an acceptance only to get rejected during December. Don't get your hopes up too much by what they tell you.

That happened to somebody I met at one of my interviews.

For the record: I had no intention of making light of the idea that an african american was getting an acceptance at howard.

My thinking was that howard heavily favours AA and hence I was just confirming if this individual "fit the bill".

Congrats once again 👍 .

To those of you who had the interview at Howard. Did you have to write an essay and if so what was it about?

Are you saying that you wrote an essay during the interview??? If so, that's odd!!!

CONGRATULATIONS. THIS IS THE MOST WONDERFUL OFFER OF ACCEPTANCE. 👍
WHAT TYPE OF QUESTIONS DID THEY ASK. DID YOU HAVE 39 OR LESS QUESTIONS.

I wrote everything on the interview feedback section, it should be there. Overall, it was all basic questions like "why dentistry", "why this school?" and so on
