Excuse me if this is rude or politically incorrect.

I have heard that Howard and Meharry often accept minority students, but how often is it that they would accept someone such as a Caucasian female? I was just wondering. I have noticed on predents.com that they tend to accept lower GPA scores. Any clues as to why this is? I am not applying for another year or so but have started my searches early. My gpa isn't the best at the moment but am taking 3 science courses and doing well in them so hopefully my sGPA will rise after this semester. If anyone could give me anyinfo it'd be great!

I just attended an interview there last week and I saw a good number of Caucasians and other races. It seems they are a lottttt more diverse than people think so def look into applying next year.

I am an undergrad. at Howard, and I am very active within the dental school as a volunteer. There are plenty caucasian females that attend the school, so don't be discouraged. But what I will say is that Howard & Meharry are minority schools and they give minorities the opportunity that plenty of other schools (those schools that may be easier for you to get into) the chance to become a dentist even though they may not be that great on paper.
But like I said, don't be discouraged by not applying... success and passion is more than just skin deep and Howard & Meharry are schools that look at your story and not just the picture. Good luck on your search and your future application journey into dental school.
