hey guys,
i'm wondering if i should bother mailing howard the $75 money order at this point in the app process. i'm trying to gauge my chances of getting an interview and taking into consideration the fact that i'm not a URM(?) student or a minority, i'm out of state, and it's already october. any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think you should continue the application process with Howard. Since you already paid for AADSAS (I assume), you might as well continue with it. If Howard is one of your top choices, then stick to it. I just read it from one of the threads here that Howard hasn't interview anyone yet (according to predents.com) so it is not too late. The deadline is in Jan 15th. At the end, it is up to you. Good luck!

They would most likely come back to you with a rejection letter after getting your $75.

I had my Howard interview in February after applying in November, and we weren't the last interview, so they go pretty late. Although it definitely helps to be a URM at Howard, you don't have to be. There were a number of white students, and close to 40% of the 2008 incoming class was asian. And it's hard to be out of state when Howard isn't actually located in a state. 🙂

The writing sample is cake, nothing to worry about. They simply ask you to suggest ways to help preserve academic integrity and prevent plagiarism at the university level.

3 paragraphs tops - basically it's to see that you know what academic integrity is, and that you can throw a few sentences together.
