Hey, everyone, I have already been accepted to med school and I wanted to know if anyone knew how to go about applying for the Health Professionals Scholarship Program. It is something I am very interested in and if anyone out there has already been through the process or if someone is going through the process right now, I would really appreciate some feedback as to what my first step should be as far as applying for this scholarship. I am interested in the Navy's HPSP. Thanks

Hi Mike!

I am a prior service Air Force HPSP recipient. I am in my first year at AZCOM. Although I am not quite sure that this 100% correct (application for the scholarship is slightly different for those already on active duty), I believe that the first person you need to contact is the health professions recruiter of the service that you're interested in.

My best advice is to speak with a representative from each service to decide which fits you best. From there, I would proceed to apply for the scholarship from all three branches to enhance your probability of getting it. Then if you are offered more than one, pick the service that you like the most.

To find the recruiters, go online and search the services. I know that airforce.com will be the af link. Use a drop down menu to find the right recruiter. You must speak with a health professions recruiter. The enlisted recruiters will be of no use to you.

Any more questions, feel free to pm me.
