I understand that some Dental Schools want high school transcripts and SAT scores, are they factored into admission decisions?

(stupid q iknow..but this is a pre dent forum so I decided just to ask)

The only school I know of that wants High School Transcript is UCLA when you first apply and Harvard only when requested.

SAT who knows, maybe at some school but I dont really think so.

That go for non traditional students as well? I'll have been out of highschool for 10 years before I apply. My HS grades were abysmal. I 100% flunked 10th grade.

Other than UCLA, not a single school out of the 23 I applied to asked for any high schools grades, but UNLV did ask me my SAT / ACT scores, which I didn't take anyways so I just put a big NA there. If you did bad in high school I wouldn't worry about that at all harming your chances for dental school if you're doing well in college.

I asked UCLA why they requested high school transcripts and they said it was just to confirm your AP credits that appear on your college transcript.

It is the same reason for Harvard. If you are not bringing any AP credits with you then Harvard does not care about your HS transcripts and SAT scores. I did not submit my HS transcript and SAT scores but did not affect me in anyway.
