MY situation
I am a permanent resident of United STates with a citizenship of India.
I was all set to start in jan 07 for the SGU class but past september i lost my green card. I applied for a new one and it takes about 6 months to get a new one. So i am expecting to get my around march. SO right now all i have is my Indian passport and a photocopy of my lost greencard and a receipt that shows tht i applied for a new greencard.

I am currently visitng India becuase the US consulate from chicago gave me a stamp that I could leave the country for two months (until dec 25th). I will be back in states areound Dec 2oth. MY question is what should i do so i could enter Grenada for the class of jan 07.

This is what i was thinking

I was thinking maybe go to the us consulate again and get another stamp for 2 months; leave U.S.A. and hope that my greencard comes in march which my mom can mail to me and then i will be set. But Will i be able to enter grenada with an indian passport (stamped by the us consulate for proof of my greencard) a copy of my old greencard and a photo copy of the letter from ministry of grenada .

other option is leave united states with a stamp for two months, and if my greencard doesnt come within that period go to the us consulate in west indies and ask them to extend my stamp? would they do that?

If any of u had similar experience or know any solution could u please respond thanks

Tough situation.
Call SGU and ask for assistance. It is better that they know ahead of time to assist you in hopefully setting up a meeting with the consulate and with immigration services in Grenada.

SGU dean's office is very helpful in these situations.

whatever you do, DO NOT PUT YOUR GREENCARD IN THE MAIL!!! BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD IDEA!!!!!! NONONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The only way to get to you at SGU is FEDEX with Armed guards LOL, really this is good advice, I have "lost mail" right now and the mail was "opened" by accident, yeah everything important gone. (STOLEN? how dare you question the Mail here! )

yeah the issue isnt getting out of the us but coming back in. I really hope the consulate gives me a 6 month stamp and then i can go in and out freely and then I can just wait till the end of may to go back home and get my grencard from my mom.
