need your feedback on this. Would it be a huge mistake to apply to LECOM-B now? I wanted to add this school because I heard they extended their deadline and need more applicants. But is it too late to be applying? Does anyone know if the class is almost filled up??

thanks!

I suggest calling them up and asking the admissions office if they will seriously consider an application received now. If they say yes, then go for it!!! :luck:

I don't see why you shouldn't. I had applied to that school too and received a letter regarding the extended deadline. So that has to mean they're still trying to find students to fill up the seats. It's worth a try.

It would also be nice to get an idea of how many people have been waitlisted. If they say they'd still consider your application, but have a long waitlist, I'd be more hesitant. The best case, of course, would be an unfilled class and small waitlist, then I'd definately go for it.

Oh, and remember they require a pretty sizable deposit to hold your spot if you are accepted ($2000 I think) and since it's after Jan 1, I think they only have to give you 30 days. So save up now.

I was just there and the class is not filled yet from what I was told, but no idea how close they are to full. However, others have posted here that there is some informal waitlist going. There were 8 people at my interview. I think they interview twice a week so that is 16 per week. There class size is 150.

Just to give you an idea. Their deposit is $1500. When I was accepted back in November they were only giving 30 days from your interview date to accept or decline. So, I don't think they would give more/less time - but who knows.

It'd be interesting to hear why so few people have applied/been accepted etc.

LECOM-B Class of 2009

Neither LECOM or LECOM-Bradenton are having trouble filling their classes. They have been placing some applicants on hold for the past few weeks, in addition to those who have been waitlisted already. I'm a post-bacc at LECOM, and my class is being interviewed all this week (I interviewed this morning...glad to be done with that 😉 )

Yes, I can tell you that many applicants have been placed on hold the past several weeks.

Is there any particular reason for this?

One llikely reason for placing more people on hold is that the class is likely filling so the school can be more selective as to whom they will admit. I'd bank it's just supply and demand.
