so im about to have an interview tomorrow morning and my nose decides to form a ridiculously big and red zit. seriously of all the times and places that this could happen it decides to happen now. i look like rudolph...
this interview is probably not going to go well 🙁

They really shouldn't care. Stop worrying. Let everything else outshine that. Everyone's had a bad day like that, including your interviewers.

Try some toothpaste. It couldn't hurt.

Don't worry about it. A residency interview is probably one of the least likely places to discriminate because of a medical problem outside of your control. As long as you don't look like a mess otherwise, you'll be absolutely fine.

Try a concealer or maybe make-up powder or such, they sell them at walgreens or wherever they sell female stuff. Good for emergency cover up of redness.

If it's really bad, you could try calling your personal doctor to see if they can squeeze you in today to get a cortisone shot.
But chances are that it's not that big of a deal. Residency interviews aren't beauty contests.

Never thought I'd see a post like this from a medical student...

It's a zit. It happens. Conceal it and make sure it doesn't pop all over the person who is interviewing you and it shouldn't affect your prospects.

Of course, you could just cancel the interview since what residency program would ever take someone with a disgusting pimple on their face?!

Why not simply put a small band-aid on your nose?

And I thought pre-allo was harsh. Haha...

I would just reschedule the interview.

You a dude?

If not, concealer/ foundation. Which isn't a bad idea anyway

Update on how the interview went? Surely OP will deliver.

If residency interviews are based on looks, I will be going hungry next year....

This can't be a serious thread, right?

Sorry, I think you misunderstood. I meant deliver some food, based on his pizza face and all.

when asked how committed you are to medicine, sit there and squeeze the zit with all the force you can muster and when it explodes all over the residency director, cry and say "this should speak for itself"
