Hi everyone,

Technically, both of these classes are not Biology classes, but would they count in the science GPA? They count as related to my bio major. I know ecology does count, but would the following class be considered more ecology or more anthropology?

ANTHROPOLOGY 3200 - Human Behavorial Ecology

The application of the theory of natural selection to the study of human culture and behavior, with emphasis on the interaction between humans and their environment.

HUMAN DEVELOPMENT & FAMILY STUDIES 2100 - Human Development: Infancy through Adolescence
Individual development and behavior from prenatal period through adolescence; impact of peers, school, other social agencies, and especially the family.

Thanks!

I had two classes like that too and I did not count them as science. I more or less went with the rule that if the course number for the class started with BIO (biology), PHY (physics), CHM (chemistry) then it counted as science for example.

They both sound like Social Science...

AACOMAS has a guide that tells you what courses count towards what GPA.

Yeah, they're both social science courses and thus won't be calculated into your science GPA.

I got them to count an aircraft performance class as physics...so you might be able to stretch the first one into being classified as science.

If the anthropology class is physical/biological anthro (and it sounds like it might be), then it would be counted into your science GPA. Other subfields are not considered science, though.

The latter will not be counted as science.

I think it might be too, but I guess I have to wait for the class to start before I can tell.

Thanks a lot to everyone though for your advice.
