Is their any evidence that low stimulus environments cause agitation in children and is there any associated documented time frame?

I know its kind of obvious but if any kind person knows of some related research or has considered opinions I would be really grateful. My own searches are drawing a bit of a blank

I think you'll have to narrow your search query a bit. Are you talking about the low stim environments we generally have in NICUs? I'm also unclear what you mean by low stim environments 'causing' agitation. How are you defining these terms and in what population?
