so I walking to the doctor's office today getting ready to shadow my D.O. This guy has a great sense of humor, and he was talking to one of his PAs about women...Apparently when women aren't PMS-ing they are IBS-ing....i was confused because i didnt see the connection between PMS and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I asked them to explain...well apparently IBS stands for idopathic bitching syndrome, which most women present with at early morning appointments 😱

Pretty funny. Of course I know a lot of women who really do have IBS and when it acts up they really do act like they have PMS.
But not to encourage too much...
It's of course all fun and games until you don't take us girls seriously and blame our genuine complaint on PMS or any other thing. 😉

Realx guys he obviously didnt mean it offend any one ...how many times a day to (we) girls accuse guys of thinking with their dicks...its all fun and games.

honestly, i don't think his intent matters, nor do i frequently accuse guys of thinking with their dicks. i do think this guy exhibits a general lack of consideration for women, and i personally wouldn't want to see a doctor like that. that general dehumanization of women or any other category of patients is a sign of a bad health care practitioner, imo.

Wow, talk about being anal. The "general dehumanization of women" because the guy made a joke about patients, specifically women, being bitchy when the nurse missed a vein. Come off it. If a nurse misses a vein people do get bitchy. If you cant find humor in your job and bring that homor to others then you are in the wrong field. When you are doing prostate checks with your fingers up some guys butt, you gotta find a little humor, unless you palpate something abnormal, or else you are going to burn out. I would much prefer to have a doctor that jokes around and has a sense of humor rather than someone without a personality and is strictly by the book. I dont know if any one remembers that one episode of friends when someone is having a baby, and rachel meets a ob/gyn doctor at the hospital and wants to go on a date with him, but hes reluctant and tells her that:

doc: "what do you do for a living"
rachel: I am a waitress
doc: ohhh, well after a hard day's work you get home and you feel like if you look at another cup of coffee your just gonna go nuts or puke"
rachel: (with a mortified look on her face)...yea i guess
doc: yeah so thats why I dont date very frequently



well the convo is something to that extent...i was cracking up on the floor like there is no tomorrow!!!! and frankly ive always wonderd if they really feel something like that... 😱

exlawgrrl, I think the name says it all. No really, You are obviously upset about this, but need to realize that unfortunately, alot of people out there are funny, even if you don't think so. They even sometimes do this by ripping on the opposite sex. Yea, it's true, it happens, I get made fun of because I'm a guy. By girls even. Go figure.
