anyone know anything about the Husson University school of pharmacy? is it a good school? I know it's only candidate status, but I guess that that doesn't really matter in terms of me being eligible for licensure after completing the program and all. I applied more because I had to choose a second school than my desire to go there. I didn't think I had much a chance, when my scores from the Oct pcat came in, with a 56 composite (all they look at for interview invitations are gpas and pcat composite scores). My gpa is 3.97.

is this surprising? they sent me an interview invitation, and I need to respond by tomorrow. Pharmcas says they interview 180 ish and take 70 ish for the program.

is it like, disrespectful to set up an interview, and then withdraw my application before the interview if say I get into my 1st choice school, (which I would know ~2 weeks before that interview would happen)?

thankyou!

I can't speak for the school, but regarding the interview: No it is not disrespectful to schedule one knowing they're not your top choice. But until you get an acceptance letter from your top choice, you're playing the field. Give yourself as many options as possible.

Now If/when you do get into your first choice, and if you haven't interviewed at Husson yet, thank them for consideration, but respectfully cancel your interview citing you have found an opportunity that better suits your future endeavors.

Good luck!

Schools understand that applicants are applying to more than one school. If you decide to withdraw your application prior to your interview date, just make sure you are professional in your communication. Also, do not wait until the last minute to withdraw because there are probably many students who would want your interview spot and it would give the school more time to fill that slot. As for how "good" the school is, that is up for interpretation. I believe they are a non-profit institution though and already have other established health programs, which I believe gives them more credibility over the many stand alone for profit schools springing up. Just my two cents.
