Let's say hypothetically, you have a crush on your lab partner and you're stuck with that lab partner for the whole semester. Would you ask her out at the end of the semester or just do it and pray the lord that she's mature in the scenario you two break up.

I notice that you didn't include the possibility that she rejects you and the rest of the semester is incredibly uncomfortable.

Dumb? Not really. This sort of dilemma is pretty common. You'll just have to consider every possible scenario before going ahead with it, including what @NotASerialKiller mentioned.

Yeah I didn't think about that lol and I really don't know. Most of our labs are partner-based so.... sigh. Thanks for support Cyberyne and the advice guys.

were you assigned partners or did you choose partners? if you chose, then there's likely some interest on her part. i still would suggest waiting until the end of the semester though probably

lolol this clearly is hypothetical

Anyways, just ask her. You'll get closure regardless, and nothing bad can happen. If she rejects you, it'll only be awkward if you let it.

Better you do it and get an answer rather than keep thinking "what if"

I think I'll just keep it simple and say her lab coat and goggles just go straight through my heart. Hypothetically....

I've got a similar situation but there's two interesting and possibly interested lab partners. Glad it's my last semester
You could always ask if she just wants to hang out sometime and gauge if she's even interested. I mean, it doesn't have to (and probably shouldn't in this case) jump straight into a relationship...
Sounds downright reasonable. Get that outta here!

Go for it. What's the worst thing that can happen? ( She rejects you, you have to withdraw from the class to salvage what little dignity you have left, you end up transferring schools and changing your name. Years later, you find out she is in the same medical class as you and she decides to take it upon herself to ruin your medical career through the art of blackmail..)

But seriously, go for it. Good luck!

Don't be too forward or serious lol ask her to chill or go to a party with you, go from there. Worst case she dodges the invite but not too awkward, just laugh it off. Maybe you hang out and just be friends. Best case there is something there.

Just. Be. Casual.

I think if we're going to be anatomically accurate he's the P1000.

Anatomy is not destiny. There are plenty of alternative solutions, if you think outside the box.

Exactly. Just wait for a moment when you both reach for the pipette and your hands gently touch, then look deep into her eyes and say, "My entire life was but prelude to this moment". Keep it casual.

My entire life was but prelude to this comment.

I remember back in 2004 when I was a junior in college and taking chemistry. I was a late convert to medicine, and my lab partner was a girl also in my major and thinking of PA school. We peripherally knew each other through the major and threw mutual friends. I took a liking to her, and I suspected she to me as well. She was impressively hot.

Before our first exam she invited me to her place to study. Turns out her apartment was some weird kind of shrine to her cat. Kinda creepy.

Yadda yadda yadda, we had quite a few more "study" dates during the rest of the semester, I just made sure they were mostly at my place. She was actually about as smart as she was good-looking. There was very little awkwardness during the course, and then I kinda just stopped hanging out with her after the final.

I think she's a professional ballet dancer now or something.
