Hey guys! I have a real dilemma on my hands! I have gotten acceptances from 5 schools and want to attend UHS (they offered me a scholoarship!) I am having a problem with fulfilling the Genetics requirement. My school's genetics class conflicts with classes that I need to graduate, so I am trying to take it at another school through our cross-registration program, however the class is currently closed. I won't know if I can get the class till after the Dec 14 deposit deadline (Jan 10). UHS's deposit is $1000 and I don't have that kind of money to waste. I have looked into some schools in my area to see if they will offer Genetics in the summer and all the schools have told me that they don't know if they will offer it until later. I feel like I don't have enough certainty to put $1000 on the line. There is a good chance that I will get the genetics class for next semester, but there is a possiblity that I may not. Do any of you know if UHS grants waivers of this requirment or will they allow me to give my payment after the Dec 14 deadline? UHS is my #1 choice, but I cannot waste $1000. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it!

Rather than that you may want to call UHS and discuss your situation with them and see if they will waive the genetics requirement.

You can always find it somewhere to take, maybe not your hometown...then find somewhere larger to take it....maybe this means moving to Kansas City during the summer. If UHS is your #1 choice, then this does not seem like a big thing to do because it affects the next 4 years of your life, besides UHS is a great school.

You'll probably get into the genetics class...and if you don't, then talk with the professor and discuss the situation with the professor.

bro just talk to the professor and tell him your situation exactly..i am sure they will take care of you..if not go talk to the department..if still not then go to the dean..u the the point..

Take a deep cleansing breath and relax your chi. Now let's look at your situation with a clear head.

Go to the professor of the class that is closed. Explain to him or to her and if necessary, the department (as nerves79 said) and discuss the situation with them. They may give you special permission to enter the class given your circumstances.

If not, call the med school and find out about Winter session classes at another school.

This is not a fatal problem. There is a solution, just relax and the solution will come to you.

I agree. Take your accpetance letter and the requirements info about the school and explain it to the prof or even the dean of head of the department of that class. Beg, plead, etc...

Also keep in mind some schools have waitlists for classes and someone always drops so show up the first day of class in case that happens.

Do a correspondence course. Start it now and you might be able to get the bulk of the work over before your next semester begins.

you can search the internet to find an online/distance learning class from a reputable university. Phoenix U. is probably not the way to go, but I'm sure you could find what you need in case the class at your school doesn't work out.
good luck🙂

I don't know specifically concerning Genetics but Brigham Young University does a LOT of courses via the internet or the mail. Definitely check them out.<br>
