I have the month off for CS, CK, and a few interviews. I already took CS, and I put in a decent effort (3 solid days). I was planning on going hardcore for the CK to guarantee a solid score (goal is 260+), but I can't seem to motivate myself to do it. The test is in 19 days. I'm putting in 6 hours a day studying at a maximum...sometimes less. There is just this sense that the test is not as important as step I...though I know this is probably untrue. Any tips, words of encouragement, or ultimatims to pump me up to my old step I gunner days?

....welcome to 4th year...

If you want a 260+ you need to work your gluteals off!!!

However, if you are comfortable with not doing quite that good - I'm sure you'll do fine on the exam...

How was studying for 3 days?? I only have 2 scheduled - one of which I'm flying to LA to take the thing - I scheduled it 2 days after CK - probably not the smartest thing I've ever done - but how bad can it be?
:luck:

I totally hear you! I cannot get motivated, either. I've done some USMLEWorld, but my scores are all over the place, and I've read about 30 pages of crush, and that's pretty much it. 6 hours is more than I've put in on ANY day. In fact, when I get a good score on a question set, I'm like, eh, I'm going to be fine. Then, when I get a bad score, I'm like, man, I'm screwed...and then I drown my sorrows in some beer and TV. Like you, I wish I could get my step 1 groove back! I'd love a 260+, and in fact, have to get in that neighborhood to not go down from step 1.

So sorry no tips or encouragement.....just sympathy. Or is it empathy? Whatever. Suffice it to say, this blows.

erl1983...lmao...seriously I am so in the same boat.

That's why I'm on SDN for the umpteenth time rather than doing my UW. I've done 20% and test next week. Scoring 40-70% with lots of cheating (tons in tutorial mode). Why can't this just be over already, all I want to do if focus on my interviews and finishing watching every stupid show on TV. Sooo over the whole First Aid thing too...ugggh
