The secondary for my state school has a question that states "Have you had any practical experience in laboratory or medical research?" I was waitlisted for this school last year (and never got in, obviously), and one of the things I was told to improve in my app was to gain research experience. I contacted a ton of people from my school, and was given the opportunity to volunteer in an ecological study. I spent 2 weeks with 9 hour days each in the field, and was told we would then be going into the lab to analyze blood samples that we collected. The researcher originally was going to start in June, but as of now still has not started the lab aspect. So, my honest answer to this question is no. But, since I have done research (we collected data for a concurrent study in the field), is there a way I can address this without looking like I ignored their advice last season? Why can't there be any love for us field study folk? (For what it's worth, I don't know if/when we would be starting the lab work.) TIA.

I have begun the preliminary work of a project designed to study _____. So far, I have collected data, but await ____ before proceeding with the project.

👍

End of thread.

Thanks for the input. The question actually has "yes" and "no" check boxes, then space to explain. Would it be okay to check no, but then explain with the above?
