my DAT is scheduled for next friday, august 21st. i've already pushed it back 3 times... i'm starting to flip out now because i feel like i still have sooooo much to do. what do you guys think about a september 1st test date if i already applied for this cycle? every school i applied to is waiting for my test score. is that too late? should i just suck it up and take it on the 21st?? ahhhhhhh....

you got my problem....i also think that I need only one more month to review...

if you got over 20+, I've heard that it's not late at all. but if you got 19 somthing...it could hurt you...

hmmm, thats a tuffy. if you pushed it off 3 times already, it just sounds like you're nervous, which is perfectly normal. Think about it, even if you did push it off for a few more weeks, would you feel THAT much more comfortable taking it ? maybe a little, but not too much i bet. if you've been sincerouly studying and taking practice tests, i'd go for the gusto man. 🙂

I pushed mine back quite a few times (more than 3)...but then I stopped to think about it and realized I didn't feel ready because I wasn't throwing myself into studying 100%. I rescheduled one last time (test is this Friday) and decided that was the absolute LAST time and that my test was definitely going to be on that date. So far it has helped me focus and study more seriously for the past few weeks, and now I feel pretty good going into it. My advice is to convince yourself that you are NOT going to reschedule, but instead you are going to work harder.

this is what i've done so far. i took the kaplan course from june to the end of july. during that time i wasn't studying so much, maybe 4-6 hours a day, mostly just to keep up with the reading. i found out that i didn't absorb as much info as i would have liked, so i pretty much read the entire kaplan book again.

then august hit, and i started studying maybe 8 hours a day, and then this last week, i've gone up to maybe 10 hours a day. i took 3 kaplan practice tests, scores ranging from 17-23 in various sections. i have 3 topscore tests that i am going to take also.

i am using cliff's ap bio, destroyer, all my kaplan material, CDP 5 test version, and i JUST bought CDP math today because i was getting nervous about QR and everyone seemed to be raving about this software... i haven't looked at it yet. anyway i went through cliff's twice and did almost every quiz/subject test/workshop online for kaplan, plus flashcards only once. as for destroyer, i got through the orgo section 1.5 times, didn't finish gchem, almost finished going over bio 1 time, and didn't finish QR either... i'm behind on my destroyer stuff, i know.

i just feel like all this info is swimming in my head but nothing feels solid enough. is this how you guys feel? if that's the case, then maybe i am ok... if not, then maybe i DO need to reschedule one last time. i don't know...

I totally felt the same way for the week before the test. One thing that may help is to keep a notebook or some flash cards filled with facts that you feel worth remembering. Go over them once every 2 or 3 days and they will stick to you. You have done quite a lot already, just finish up destroyer and you should be fine.

ok thanks for all your advice!! i really appreciate it. i'm just going to suck it up and take it as scheduled. i guess this was a typical one-week-left flip out. 😱😛
