***If someone were to serve an underserved area after graduating, should they given priority in admission? (no clue)

***As interviewers, we have the opportunity to plead your case to the larger admissions committee... Knowing that we represent you, and if I told you I can tell them anything you want me to, what would you want me to tell them? (how about the things I just talked to you about)

***What is the single biggest problems with healthcare in the US today? (I'm just not really sure)

***Should the government provide more money for dental education than law or engineering? (No clue)

**Why the gap year? --> I am currently doing research and have another part time job to raise some money. Do you think these are good responses? Should I also say spending some time traveling or is that a put off?

Just be honest... I mean, I dont have any interview yet but that is my plan. If you have no idea... just say it. I think the response to "why the gap year?" is fine, might just want to be more descriptive. I think the first one should be yes. Show's commitment to the community, which all dental schools think is a necessary quality in dentists. As far as number 3 goes... thats a little bit harder for me to answer. so im not going to try. just my thoughts.-- 2 is easy, just hype yourself up.

1st question: I don't think there's really a right or wrong answer; Just answer with good reasons.

It can go both ways...I would either agree and talk about the importance of the organized dentistry and programs like this can help its effort to reach out and effectively improve the oral health of underserved community. I can disagree and say, although giving back to your community is important, altruism and volunteerism shouldn't come with a price(well...duh right?). This is my take on it.

2nd question: could be answered the same way as "why should we accept you?"

3rd +4th questions: You could do research on these.

5th question: Just answer truthfully (research / part time job sounds good to me) and maybe talk about what you learned from it. Importance of research/academia. What research meant to you (if the school you're interviewing has a good research program) etc etc. I wouldn't say I spent time to travel (I feel like adcoms want to know if you spent your year off getting prepared for dental schools)

From what I've read and heard, you won't be asked questions like #3 and #4 most likely. But if you're asked such questions and you have absolutely no idea what to talk about, I wouldn't BS. I know one of my friend who said "I honestly don't know at this moment because I don't feel that I'm well-informed on this matter. But I would like to do some research and get back to you" He got the interviewer's email address and emailed him back that night after he did some research along with a thank you note. And he got in.

Hope it helps.
