I'm looking for foodstuffs recommendations that are healthy and appropriate for easy consumption while on my surgery rotation. Already tried some "healthy smoothie/meal replacements" that are in squeezable pouches and don't need to be refrigerated, but they tasted absolutely gross. (I have a newfound regard now for the dietary consult service, and any patient who is visited by them.) Any other recommendations besides tried-and-true trail mix, granola bars, etc.? (And if so, any in particular that you really like?) Please link any applicable forums (or Amazon.com pages) as needed. Thanks!

Orgain protein shakes. The kid versions are even more portable

Clif kids bars and energy shots(ate way too many of these in school)

Barkthins which are so not healthy but are so good anyway(not dog food)

Primal strips(vegan meat jerky substitute)

All available on amzn

Do not, AND I REPEAT, DO NOT chug a protein shake on an empty stomach before scrubbing in.

(EDIT: During my 3rd day of surgery) I was "assisting" on a CEA and was fighting the gas/impending toilet doom so much that I was sweating and the anesthesiologist thought I was about to pass out and quickly grabbed me while I was still standing. I looked like an idiot, he felt like an idiot, the surgeon called me a jackass. It was a bad day for all.

If what you're suggesting is that I wear an adult diaper during surgery then...you wouldn't be the first. Oh, and I put extra fiber in my protein shakes so that I can dutch oven the whole OR.
