I've just completed my first semester as a freshman.
I went in not knowing what to expect and got too distracted by all there is in the city.. making friends and such, that I completely neglected my classes.
I got an A, B, C and D+ in my four classes (science seminar, writing, chem, and bio respectively) awful grades, I know.
I'm not even aiming for a cumulative undergrad GPA of a 4.0. I just want at least a 3.7 in the end. I'd most likely take a gap year or two after senior year to travel abroad and work for peace corps or something of the sort before applying.

A C in chem is bad enough. But the D+ in bio counts as failure, right? I think I should retake it. When do you suggest I do that? (I don't think my school offers a summer course for bio) Should I redo my schedule so I don't take Bio II next semester?

I did very poorly not because the class was hard, but because I literally did not attend classes or study. So this has been a wakeup call and I'm pursuing all A's from now on to make up for my failures.

What should I do?
I am sincerely lost and my health advisor isn't responding and I don't know what to do.

Thanks.

You have a lot of time to repair your GPA. You're still a freshman. Just focus on your next semester and stop worrying about what already happened. You'll be fine!!

This is common for freshmen. It will be a bump on your future application but it won't be a dealbreaker given that you do well in every semester after this one. There's nothing you can do about the past, just do well from now on.

Oh, and C- and below is failing.

Just retake it and fix your study habits. You will be fine.

Learn from the mistake. Get an A in Bio II and retake bio I before you graduate. Emphasize how you were immature etc, and show that you can get your act together / respond to a challenge
