I failed step 1 twice ,is there any hope to continue?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
1. You are an IMG, you are already at a huge disadvantage in the match
2. You failed usmle step 1 TWICE

Just scroll through the SOAP thread of 2018 and you will see how bad it is. IMGs who passed their first time aren't matching into even the lowest residencies. DO American students who failed the USMLE only once aren't matching.

You failed twice and are an IMG. It's basically impossible. I would look at other countries or professions. Save your money.

Anybody has experience with taking step 1 3 times and continued to complete the USMLE then got residency?
I am IMG and still hoping to continue my jurney.

Try to get in touch with someone that went to Puerto Rico for residency I heard that they have better chances>

Yes it is possible, see link below:

Success Leaves Clues

These stories only serve to give people false hope. Sure, there are always exceptions, but basing advice off of exceptions will only lead to further pain when the overwhelming majority do not experience similar outcomes.

This person has a less than 1% chance of matching a U.S. residency. He needs to start planning the rest of his life rather than pursuing dead dreams.
