I have never posted on here, only observed. I took the DAT on July 1 and did not do so well. I started studying this summer for only about 4 hours per day 4 days a week but not too intensely as I was also taking a calculus class. I used TopScore which helped with all sections except the PAT and Kaplan which was helpful in most areas, also. Since I am applying this summer, I will be retaking the DAT in October. I NEED advise for how to study from now through October. PLEASE! These were my scores:

Treat studying like a job. Pretend someone is paying you a **** load to do it too, so you won't slack off like if it was a job at TGIF.

Kaplan, Topscore, etc. is useful as practices for tests, but don't rely solely on Kaplan's review notes cause they don't tell you everything. For example, that whole blastulation, gastrulation stages of embryonic development in the review notes is pretty pathetic, and then on the Kaplan tests they will ask you questions about the process that wasn't covered in the review notes...they do this with a lot of bio and chem subject matter.

I guess if you're strapped for time and don't want to reread all your gigantic textbooks, which I wouldn't and am not doing, then you could at least take the tests, and then whenever you miss a question, say on taxonomy, go back to an actual textbook and really read up and study that material cause just the Kaplan and topscore stuff isn't really enough all the time.
