I took general chemistry a year ago and it was only when I started studying for the MCAT that I realized just how much I had already forgotten. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to remember all of your general chemistry unless you constantly review it until you start studying for the MCAT. As they say, use it or lose it. However, it's not as bad as you might think because when you start studying for the MCAT, you realize that most of what you've forgotten has been the nitty gritty details and calculations, only some of which you will really need to rememorize for the MCAT. For the MCAT, you're thinking about chemistry in a way that you probably never did in school, mostly in a more conceptual manner than quantitative manner. Everyone studying for the MCAT will have to look up some old concepts in addition to learning new skills. Also, even though you might have forgotten alot, the basics are fairly easy to pick up again with a little effort. Don't worry too much about what you're forgetting and just be prepared to put in some time relearning and honing your chemistry skills when the time comes. Best of luck. 👍
