Hey everyone,

I was wondering if I should retake physics, which I got a C in. I also got a B in chemistry. Should I retake that as well?

I got a C in physics 1 and 2. I took it 2 summers ago along with chem 2. that summer was a bad time for me as my father's business wasn't doing very well so I had to take up a job to help out. I got a D+ in chem 2 but retook it this past summer and got an A+. I got a B in chem 1 though. Also, I have 2 other C+s in first year courses....I was SOO immature back then! I hate myself for it now so much! My gpa is at 3.42 right now. Thanks!

Yes, u should retake ur physics class, and i am not so sure about chemistry... cuz i also got B and i dont know if i should retake it lol

Don't retake a class that you got a B in. If everyone only got A's then the only GPA that adcoms would see would be 4.0. Getting a C is iffy, only retake if you think you can do much better. Would not be good to get another C, so look back at your situation of why you got the C and determine if the next time you take the class how it will be different.

It's definitely not worth it to retake Chemistry if you got a B. I think you'll be fine with a C in Physics as well. One C in the whole scheme of things is not going to matter. You're better off trying to improve your GPA with other classes, rather than retaking a course you got a C in. I would, however, consider retaking if you got a C-, but maybe that's just me! Good luck 🙂

I got a C+ in Physics and C in Chemistry and i didn't retake. It's better to take upper division biology courses and get A's in those. And just get an 11+ on your physical sciences MCAT and no one will question those C's.

If it's your only C, and if it's Physics I, I personally wouldn't retake. If you get any other C's I would definitely retake those, though.

do well in physics II. unless you have a bunch of poor grades i don't think you need to retake. if you retake for an A, both grades will get averaged to a B. plus, it doesn't really say much to get an A in a course you've passed before.

If you are serious, you should re-take both classes.

I would only retake a class if I felt like I didn't have a good understanding of the concepts and material. It's only a 3 hour class out of 120 hours that you will have

And you will really need to focus on showing an upward trend in your grades. Adcoms look for that.

I got a C in Gen Chem I (total weed out class) and then B in II. Whatever. The rest of my transcript is all As, A-'s, B+s... so it doesn't really matter as I am still 3.7+. You'll be fine as long as you don't make this a habit.
