The MSAR lists the first acceptance date for Wash U as November 15. However, I got an acceptance call from the dean today. I was really surprised, but I guess they've made at least their first round of decisions. Well, anyway, congrats to our favorite troll (assuming he's telling the truth)!

In anticipation of some timeline questions...I interviewed on Oct. 27. Good luck to everyone who's waiting!

Since SQUAT thinks DO is worse than SLU (as evidenced in other posts) it makes no sense for him to explain why he didnt not apply to SLU though a rejection of its quality since he applied to schools of (in HIS opinon) less quality. exmikes opinions never enter into it.

DO's are coo' man, they are coo'- i come from a town of all DO's .. ain't nuthin' wrong widdat... do what you wanna do and don't let anybody influence you otherwise or let you think you are the lesser, alright?

as for SLU, it's a good school, currently ranked 60 something in the nation up from 80 something the previous year, and with new construction will very likely be in the top 40-50. so there isn't any reason to knock that either $hit and squat

DOs RULE!!!!!!! They will soon take over medicine in the US. As more DOs take over primary care fields and as more MDs specialize, who do you think will be referring patients to the specialists? DOs!!!!

These DOs will refer to only DO specialists unless the MD specialists don't have a superiority complex like our buddy Squat here. 😀

Listen, I'm a fourth year med student (MD) and I'm going to tell you how it is.

While the MD's and DO's waste their time engaging in endless "whose medical genitals are biggest" contests, the lawyers and MBAs are ravaging the physicians' wives and daughters.

In case you can't get this allegory, while physicians are busy with infighting, the lawyers and the MBAs are running medicine. They have every reason to laugh at us. Physicians spend way too much time and money training, while the training is minimal for other professionals and they make bank off of the MDs/DOs backs.

So the answer to your question, whose stupider, MDs or DOs? We're all a bunch of idiots, equally *****ic and naive.

Oh yeah, don't try that crap of accusing me of being bitter. I'm just telling you how it is. Just because you choose to turn a blind eye to everything that is in the papers, TV news, JAMA, and NEJM, don't accuse me of being bitter. Medicine is a very, very difficult and often unrewarding field to be in. Of course there are outliers, but iumportant decisions should never be made on outliers or imagined utopias. I wish that I had not looked through "rose colored glasses" four years ago. But, I have my scheme to get myself out of this pit.

I didn't apply to all the DO schools. It's all about the numbers (rankings). That's all. I wouldn't attend any school that is ranked out of the top 20, regardless of the category.
