Ditto.. I thought I had classes in the past that I hated, but I was wrong... not until now. Pointless jibber jabber.. 😡 I feel like Charlie Brown...

I hate calculus too. I have a weird experience with it. My first semester I took Calc 1 (5hrs), and I was doing ok, but I did not understand it all all and I don't think my teacher did either and I ended up dropping it. Then last year I took Calc A (3rs), which is all that is required for all the schools I applied to, and made an A. Then I heard that ETSU would not accept calc A. So, I'm taking Calc 1 again (only this time its only 4 hrs), but then I found out that ETSU is taking the Calc A class, but I only have 12 hrs and I can't drop. Until Monday my average was a 90 something, but I had a test on Monday and forgot about it and didn't study until I was in A&P that morning. I'll be lucky if I ended up making a 60 on it. ugh. I'm going to feel really stupid if I can't get an A after my 3rd time taking it.

I agree. Calculus was by far the hardest class for me. Somehow, I was able to pass it with a B but it took many hours of studying. Guess you just gotta pick it up as you go. Didn't do so hot on my first test in there (71 C) but I was able to get it for the most part.

multivariable calc was probably my second favorite class in college next to biomaterials. no joke. to be fair, i'm an engineering major, so i'm supposed to like calc or something like that though.

at any rate, it'll be over soon enough even if you hate it. semester's almost over. just try to make the best of it.

I agree, I love Calc. I am actually a Calculus teacher. I was also an engineering major. You know, in Calculus, your teacher really matters. When I took calc I, I had this great teacher and I breezed through it. At the end I sold my book back to the book store (it was supposed to be for calc I - III) because I never used it (I would do my homework in the math lab at school) because my teacher was so good! When I took calc II, my teacher was a total boob. I had to go and REBUY the book for $120, and I had sold it back for $35. I have litterally never struggled so hard through a math class. I got a C and deserved an F. Then I took calc III and got another A (another great teacher.)

My trigonometry teacher kept saying, "Teeter this..." and "Teeter that..." and finally someone had the courage to ask him what the heck "teeter" was. He was saying Theta.

Okay, you know a Calculus test was hard as hell if half the class just walks out 20 min into the test. That is what I felt like doing after I initially looked over the test....but I just tried to work out the problems and get something that resembled math on my paper.

I knew the test was going to be hard because we were allowed to use one page of notes....that is always a big clue... 🙁

I am getting the test back tonight and I think I just may have failed my first test in college.

I feel bad, yet lucky after reading these replies. 😳 My calculus teacher was a skater and looked like he just graduated. He wore a hat and looked like a slacker every day. He let us take our final exam in groups of 4 with one page of notes. I guess there just aren't a lot of fun calculus teachers like him in the world. 🙁 I haven't really heard anybody cool throughout my life say "I want to teach calculus when I grow up!"

For some reason, all the biology courses came to me easily and I passed most of those with near 100%. I've got a 99% in Physics II right now and my calculus is hanging in there with an 85%.

I think I may actually get through this! (knock on wood)

Do you guys know of any study materials......books, internet, etc. that I could learn some background math or even some calculus before taking the class this Fall. Thanks!

im reading calculus for dummies right now. i got 16 math credits on my AS but that was 8 yrs ago (late bloomer) had a really grat math teacher then in pre -calc/trig our teacher (not same one)had to return to phillipines for 8 weeks we self taught for 8 weeks of 121 and i still got a B.

As you probably know already, there's a 5 member team at a hospital, which consists of a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, pychologist, and dietition. Dietitions formulate diets for patients that have special needs. For example, diabetics, burn patients, gastrointestinal problems, colitus, and people that have had surgeries. The list goes on and on.......Most dietitions do not work with people just for weight loss. They are registered and work in a hospital with a part of the team mentioned above.......hope this helps!

I had a lot of the prereq. done for pre-pharm. since the dietetics degree requires a lot of chemistry, biology, and anatomy/physiology.

Calc 2 is the biggest joke of all time. Integral calculus is easier than differential calculus.

It makes me sad that you guys all hate calculus. I do calculus in my spare time I love it so much 🙁 (sounds nerdy, I know; but I'm self-teaching myself Calculus III right now, lol).

I couldn't be more elated with it. It is a passing grade.

That class was the equivalent of having a 5 month long, extremely unpleasant rectal examination.

Congrats! I think we've all had at least one torturous class. You got an A in O-chem II - I got a C (my only one). You get a C in calculus while I get an A.

I'm happy that you got through it. Wouldn't it be a kick if you actually do better than you think you did? 😎
