That's all I had to say.
Just needed to get that off my chest.
I loathe (insert long continuous strand of offensive explitives here) calculus.

but I was able to get it for the most part.I agree, I love Calc. I am actually a Calculus teacher. I was also an engineering major. You know, in Calculus, your teacher really matters. When I took calc I, I had this great teacher and I breezed through it. At the end I sold my book back to the book store (it was supposed to be for calc I - III) because I never used it (I would do my homework in the math lab at school) because my teacher was so good! When I took calc II, my teacher was a total boob. I had to go and REBUY the book for $120, and I had sold it back for $35. I have litterally never struggled so hard through a math class. I got a C and deserved an F. Then I took calc III and got another A (another great teacher.)UVaWahoo said:oh sad for hating calc!
multivariable calc was probably my second favorite class in college next to biomaterials. no joke. to be fair, i'm an engineering major, so i'm supposed to like calc or something like that though.
at any rate, it'll be over soon enough even if you hate it. semester's almost over. just try to make the best of it.

PharmGrl said:Wow! I completely hate calculus. It is so over my head. I took it this semester, and had to drop it because there was no way I was even going to come close to getting that C I would need just to get the credit and move on! I'll be taking it again though, and I'll probably be almost bald from pulling out my hair in the process!!
The teacher DOES make a difference, I really agree with that!!!
I hated it even more when I found out I took the wrong class...took applied.freshbeatschris said:I started it last semester and did the same thing as you. Now I'm back in it again, only I NEED to pass it this semester.
The girl next to me failed it twice already and is in it for the third time. Girl behind me failed it once and is in it for the second time. Guy on the other side of me had a C up until the final and ended up getting a D, is taking it again. We've lost about 5 or 6 people in the last WEEK. They are dropping like flies. This is the most stress I have ever been under with a pre-pharmacy class.

Miss Sushi said:On my first day of Calc, I couldn't figure out why the teacher kept saying "party, party, party" and pointing at the board... well, he has a very strong accent and with his accent, "positive, positive, positive" sounded like "party, party, party". That class killed me. 😳
Tumi 07 said:The first Calculus is nothing compared to the second one. It makes the first Calculus seem so elementary. That was by far the hardest class I have ever take and I was happy to get that B.

Falokis said:Hrmm... I'm the opposite. Math just makes sense to me. I got a 97% in calc, but it took me dropping English Comp I 3 times before I passed it. Go figure.

Do you guys know of any study materials......books, internet, etc. that I could learn some background math or even some calculus before taking the class this Fall. Thanks!

RockAByBaby said:i love calculus. It was my absolute favorite class! my second semester, i had a blind teacher. yes. blind. but she was awesome and it was really amazing how well she could teach! and she brought her guide dog to class everyday which was motivation for me to go to class. and he would have doggy dreams and whimper in his sleep.

i wouldn't think it means to major in dieting, but what is it anyway? Is it study of nutrition? I saw a sign about something with dietetics majors at school the other day, so just curious.missnikki said:You obviously know nothing about what a dietetics major is. It has nothing to do with starving.![]()

freshbeatschris said:I still hate calculus, but at least I think I passed. This will be my only C... EVER. In 13 years and 3 different institutions of higher learning I have only ever gotten A's and B's. This will be my first college C.
I couldn't be more elated with it. It is a passing grade.
That class was the equivalent of having a 5 month long, extremely unpleasant rectal examination.

Stephie said:I just had to join in and announce that I am also finished with Calculus FOREVER!!! I hadn't taken a math class in 11 years and didn't have time to take pre-Calc or any kind of review class to help me prepare. I've never been so excited about a C before in my life! 🙂
