I know I hate these threads, but kinda needing some input. I'm kinda on the fence about this. Just took the DAT today, got OK scores. My situation though is, will it be ok with my GPA?
Scores:
PAT 19
QR 17 =/ timing
RC 19
Bio 18
GC 19
OC 20
TS 19
AA 19

Kinda hoping to get higher scores, but serves me right for the amount of studying I did, while watching marathons of America's Next Top Model and So you think you can dance...
My GPA is really low... right at 3.0. I screwed around too much first few years of college. I think if I focused a little more on studying and practice tests I could have done a little better. But oh well. So what's the verdict? I cant take anymore classes to up that GPA. I've already sent in my apps and theyre just waiting on my DAT scores. Are they good enough scores along with my GPA?

based on when you're applying, your gpa and your scores... I would say they are probably not good enough to guarantee you acceptance into a dental school, but maybe you'll get lucky.

Whether or not you get in depends on your ECs, LORs, personal statement, and interview skills. If all of these things are fantastic you will have a chance.

Also, if your grades sucked your first two years and your last two years showed marked improvement, this will help big time as well.

Why do I know all this? I got in.
Overall GPA: 2.96
Science GPA: 3.32
DAT: 19/20/19 (with a 16 in QR)

Good Luck,
-C

Super C dont you think times have changed from two years ago, meaning with the scores one could have gotten in two years ago, he/she might not be abel to get in this year.

With the sheer volume of applicants these days, it would be so much easier to sort through numbers first, effectively rendering all of the other stuff as secondary in importance. We'll see though. My numbers are pretty close to yours, and my EC's are not that of the average incoming dental student.

Yeah I knew it didn't look too good... So I'm considering a retake maybe? ergh... we'll see. everything else but the GPA is good. Thanks people for the input. Good luck Montserrat! Let me know if you hear anything from anyone
