hello i have a median nerve injury and i loss cortical senstion but crude touch relativly to normal i very like a neurosurgery can i specialize it with my injury? and this my EMG Median nerve right distal latency of the right median nerve is stretched CMAP amplitude of the collapsed the driving PNT slowed It is a significant slowdown in VCS median nerve through the right wrist the amplitude of the PA collapsed sensitive law dr median nerve neuropathy severe law focused at the lower third of the forearm responsible for sensorimotor advanced conduction block with signs of suffering axonal we note the persence signs of reinnervation moderate the ulnar nerve is free right and there is no EMG signs of radiculopathy at upper right limb no electric signs for a thoracic outlet syndrome parade please.. i want answer iam affraid from my injury interfering with the neurosurgry speciality?
 
Well that escalated quickly.
no its post traumatic ...cutting my median nerve by glass.... after surgical repair i loss my sensation.....

I would be more concerned about the language barrier hindering a US medical career than whether or not you can complete a specific subspecialty at this point.

I'm not trying to troll or be flippantly rude...you have to focus on one step at a time, and English fluency is going to come up very early, before you even begin medical school applications.

i am arabic i read medicine with arabic languesh ... and now i am intern.. so i have to choose my speciality now ? and i confused because of my injury

Ah, got you...SDN in general is largely populated by those in US medicine, and this specific forum is for pre-medical students. We are likely not the group best able to answer your question. I would honestly discuss this with a mentor at your school/hospital, or your surgeon...they will have a better idea of the actual injury (being able to assess it in person) and also the requirements of the field. We're mostly just college kids with less exposure to neurosurgery than you yourself have had.

The surgeon who operated on your nerve, who probably did the post-operative assessments, and who knows what it takes to operate on nerves, seems to be the best person to ask about this.

No need to be a jerk about it man. Maybe the guy is asking a question he really needs an answer to, but is just misguided on where he can get a good response. Making fun of his poor English is not benefiting anyone.
