A MESSAGE TO ALL AND A

FAREWELL

TO ALL.

Just reread Norm's post.

HE WAS RIGHT. HE IS NO LONGER WITH US, YET HIS MESSAGE

RESONATES.

Every one of you dudes reading this is an alpha male/female

by definition.

OVER ACHIEVER.

BALLER. SHOT CALLER. BRAWLER.

I believe in DESTINY.

I believe one of Norm's objectives on this planet when he was put on here was to disseminate the fact that

LIFE IS SHORT MAN.

Yeah ok Jet great quote but WTF does that mean?

I'll tell you what that means, ladies and gentlemen:

Our time here is FINITE.

LOSE THE INSIGNIFICANT.

Whether it's a stupid beef with your wife

or a stupid beef with your business partner

or a "I've taken MORE CALL THAN YOU!"

or a stupid POWER PLAY in your relationship with your significant other

I want you to think about something.

NORM IS GONE.

His life ended tragically EARLY.

It could happen to ANY ONE OF US.

ARE THERE BEEFS OF YOURS OUT THERE YOU'D WISHED YOU WOULD'VE RECONCILED

IF TOMORROW WAS YOUR LAST DAY?

Think about that.

Life is short, been reading ut's post, and all the other original posters for a few years. I'm currently sitting in a hospital bed watching moonshiners, trying to recover from a very rare thing. Enjoy life and live it to the fullest

It took my pops dying, also of lung cancer, for me to realize this. So many people on this forum are such "sky is falling" type of personalities it's depressing. If you want to spend your time as an MD who has an amazing career helping dudes/dudettes making 400k with 12 weeks vacation (average PP gig) freaking out about worse case scenarios that likely wont ever happen - be my guest. I'll be traveling with my hot wife or teeing it up at the golf course with my buds drinking beer or sitting rink side at the game or maybe ponying up to the poker table. Enjoying every second of my hard work and the short time I got left!

These stories are so sad. I just returned from vaca. Opened my hospital email this am which revealed one of our newer Neurologists (only one year out of residency) had passed away 2/2 malignancy. She was so sweet and nice, humorous and a fighter with good spirits. I didn’t even know she was admitted to the oncology floor until I received the email. She leaves behind a husband and a child.

It just saddens me that these things can and do happen, even to the best of them. Shait, it happened to my wife. Her mom developed colon ca during her pregnancy and decided against chemo for her unborn child (my wife). She spent less than 6 months with her newborn before she passed on. She left her husband (in the middle of a surgical residency) in charge of raising her.

Kinda funny I opened up SDN to see this thread resurrected.

I like Jet's line:

"Loose the insignificant"

Not an easy task as it's a continual process throughout our short time here... but try and be the best you can be and enjoy this wonderful life as it may suddenly become shorter than you think. Leave all the BS aside, rise above it.

What if it was you next?

What if it was me?

Take advantage while you are here!

Cheers SDN and enjoy the weekend.

Is that you, Seeve?

😀

Nah... not that one.

In a month or so... if the storms start dumping some pow.

'Till then I'll be spending my weekends in the dirt on a Moto.

Here is a nice pic from a couple months back... 250+ miles in the Sierras/Lake Tahoe on a rental Moto.

Since then I've upgraded to a much better Moto:

First real winter trip is in T- 27 days. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good season.

One life Brah!

I had to upgrade my moto as well. Once mom moved in with us, I just needed to be able to haul more.

Letting mom in da house isn't really enjoying life now is it Gern?

We just use her for cooking, cleaning and babysitting! Then, back to the basement as soon as I get home.
YOLO!!
