Uh oh. I think you're a little too late. If you study REALLY hard for the MCAT this summer you might be okay.

Dude, it's way too late. You gotta start 'em in the womb. Your kids might have a chance though. Pop some Audio Osmosis in the stereo and stick some headphones on your baby momma's tummy.

At this point, your main concern should be not getting beat up by fat or ugly chicks.

well if you just started middle school, i hope you used your elementary school years to bring health relief and aid to haiti, while also attempting to bring democracy to cuba. that should give you the appropriate background to bring peace to the middle east and cure the problems of africa by the time you apply. anything short of that and you're screwed.

[sarcasm] you guys, please dont mock our overacheiver. what if he is really interested in putting together his medical career so early? TTSD, i COMMEND you for your motivation, ambition, and curiosity. we need more people like you in this world. strongwilled and dedicated. dont let our peers get you down, they are only jealous [/end i-wish-there-were-more-doctors-in-the-world rant] 🙄 🙄 🙄

The more the merrier....also, I'd try to join a research group at least by 7th grade, start volunteering, and perhaps take on a teaching role before you get your first kiss....seriously, I hear its best to try and fill up all of the EC slots on the AMCAS pre-secondary education part. good luck, and remember, a lot of us started working for this in kindergarten, so you might find yourself a bit behind

ok so this will probably be the first serious post here. i'm not sure if you're a real person or not.. but assuming that you are i'd say forget about being a doctor now. go through middle and high school. take lots of different type of classes and see what you like. you may end up liking somethin else better than medicine. slow down a bit and look around at your options. if in the end you still decide to do medicine, trust me you'll have plenty of time in college to prepare.

You're too young to be worrying about this. Get off this site, pass some notes, get wasted at a party and hold some girl's hand, and don't come back until 8th grade at the earliest.

Med schools understand that 6th grade is an adjustment year, so they may overlook a B+ here or there, particularly if you maintain an upward trend through high school and college. So now is the time to live a little! Just remember that your overall GPA counts too. I've seen too many people think that just because they don't have recess for the first time, then they can play whenever they want. Even if they redeem themselves by 8th grade, many have to do a postbac just to get into a decent high school. So be careful.

You also might want to start thinking about your ECs. Many of the best positions require a work permit, so definitely take the time to get a quality forgery. I started as a 20-year-old grad student in my teething days, and have now reached well-compensated middle age with a sorority full of dependents.

Speaking of 20, you should consider working 20 hours a week at your local hospital so you can reach the magic 10,000 volunteer hours before you submit AMCAS. But certainly don't neglect your quirky and memorable, yet intellectually stimulating hobbies. (You do have some...right???) As a nationally ranked sheepshearer, I know this has helped me stay healthy, unique, and as sane as is advisable.

But otherwise, you should go enjoy your life. Just don't screw up now, or you will be doctoring my fries at McDonald's for the rest of your pathetic existence.

Sincerely,
Ivanna B. Gunner
