I am almost done with my senior year of undergrad and have yet to be accepted to dental school. I am from Ohio and am on the waitlist at Ohio State and University of New England. I need advice as to what I should do if I do not get accepted. Here are my accolades

DAT
-Overall- 19
-PAT- 21
-TS- 19

GPA
-3.51 overall
-3.3 science

Other
-55 hours of shadowing
-80+ volunteer hours
-Vice President of my school's predental society
-team captain on my school's varsity football team

I am not sure if I should retake my DAT or not. Also, if you have any advice on what to do to better my resume, please let me know. Thank you.

the issue is low science gpa and average DAT score. one has to be high. i think you should take some science electives at community college to make up your low science gpa. such as you can take anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, statistics, kinesiology etc. I dont think you will need to retake DAT if you end up with ~3.5 science gpa. Also apply broadly next year and do well in your last semester classes.

did u send a email of interest? giving them and update on what you've been doing?

Hey man, I'm also waitlisted to OSU's 2021 class. Since you are waitlisted, I assume you received an interview. I went and talked to Jill this past month and it really helped. Because you were granted an interview, it indicates that your stats were good enough. Perhaps it was your interview (like me). Best of luck!
