my girfriend for 5 years got an acceptance into a medical school..now i had an interview at the same place and went through with the interview to find out that they are probably interviewing for waitlist spots. Now they don't seem to go in order of waitlist so anything I can add would help my chances...Now my gf and I have been talking about getting married, blah blah..we've taken all our classes together in undergrad and studied in groups..the only diff is that i didn't do too well on the mcats.and I heard from many people that students transfer to other medical schools because their fiance is in another place or for other reasons related to a relationship.. so likewise would it make sense for me to write that 'my gf got accepted and we are both hoping that I get accepted because we plan on having a permanent future together' in my letter of intent that i write to the college??? or would it be looked at negatively? i just feel weird writing it.. it's true to the point but i just hope they don't take it the wrong way.. i don't even know if there is a wrong way to take it.. what are all your opinions? how would u see it? and what should i do in regards to the letter, include that reason of why I wnat to go there or not? the letter would not only have that reason, it would have of course other reasons why I want to go there..

Okay number one... if you have been together for so long and are sure about your future together. Then I would start saying significant other when dealing with the school.

2nd. Are you on the waitlist.. or think you will be. There is a difference. If you are on the waitlist, it means you are accepted, and may be able to move your place up on that list. If you are not accepted... then there is little you can do.

3rd If you are on waitlist, I would contact the school and let them know/ask them what the options are. Your Significant other can do the same. I would also write a letter of intend.. again.. specifying significant other, no need for girl friend / boy friend crap.

Depending on the school this may help. I know at UNECOM we are asked durring interviews if we know anyone students/profs.

Good luck

If you do not mind sharing? What school are your hoping to get into with your significant other?
