Background: I guess I’m kind of a non-traditional applicant? Maybe not. I spent 3 years at community college due to some personal reasons and then I transferred to a 4 year university. I also took a gap year, so i’m a bit older than average applicants

Shadowing: 220 hours (100 general +120 endodontist)
Volunteering: ~250 hours total
-60 hours from tutoring underserved elementary school students
-90 hours from local food kitchen
-85 hours from volunteering at COVID vaccination site (non-medical volunteer)
-25 hours from volunteering as a dental health ambassador (at a non-profit dental organization)
Work experience: ~2000 hours total
-5 months experience as a dental assistant
-1.5 year as a cashier/barista at a coffee shop (shift leader)
-1 year as a server at a restaurant
-5 months as a social media promoter (remote)
Research: 45 hours from a short 1 week summer research (did a presentation at the end of the week)
-I really wished to be involved more in research, but unfortunately COVID happened right when I transferred and everything went online. Because of this, I was not able to find research opportunities as most research labs stopped accepting people. Not sure if I should explain this in the COVID impact essay

These are the schools I’m planning to apply. Does it seem like a reasonable school list? Most are California schools as I’m a California resident. I know it could be hard to tell since I don’t have my DAT scores yet, but I just wanna start making approximate school lists. I would love some insights about which schools to add and which schools to take out!
