Hi guys. I don't know if it's too late or not, but I want to apply for 2009 cycle.

What should I do?
I haven't taken PCAT, but I heard that there are many schools that don't require it so they are my 1st choices.

Please give me advice.
I want to know the schools that don't require PCAT, when to apply, how to apply, how much it costs...etc.

I am bio major.
I have 3.9 GPA from communivty college (60 + credits)
and 3.7 GPA from 4 year university (60+ credits).

well it seems you have high GPA's. I think you should do the math and figure out your science GPA though. Although with your high cum GPA, i assume it's really high as well.

As for schools that dont require PCAT, those are especially hard to get in. Most prefer, if not require, a bachelors degree. Work exp, volunteer work, and other stuff outside of school are important. If you want a bigger pool of schools to apply, I'd consider taking the PCAT. It'll widen your opportunites ten fold.

Your stats look good. You should apply for 2010..... HAHA

I would say considering that you have a good solid GPA and multiple EC activities, you should give it a shot this application cycle and apply to non-pcat schools ( Get the list on pharmcas or use a search function on this forum and find it, it has been posted numerously ). In terms of applying for Fall 09 - you are still not late, in fact majority of people submit their applications later on in the fall. Good luck to you !

Thank you guys for answering me.
I don't have Bach degree yet but this is my last semester although I will walk graduation 2009 summer. (no class on 2009 spring)
I have 60+ hours volunteer experience.
My science GPA is not that great. It's only about 3.5 🙁

What I plan to do is apply without PCAT for 2009 since i think it's too late to study for it,
but if i don't get in, then i will take PCAT for 2010 cycle.

Where can I get the application to Pharmacy schools? due dates? and how much it costs to send them?

You can find all those information on aacp and pharmcas website.

This is all based on assumptions, but I think your grades are good enough for Dental Schools and if Dentistry is where you really want to go, I would focus on applying to more Dental Schools than putting a panicked fall back to pharmacy (most non PCAT schools are in very competitive areas like california and will be just as competitive as dental school). Seems like you have really decided on Dentistry and I don't think applying to pharmacy just so you can get in this year is a good idea as you'll have to live with the decision for the rest of your life. Think long and hard on what you want to do and many Universities with pharmacy schools will also have dentistry and might hurt your chances for admittance to both or either of those schools as they may feel you are undecided and not serious about either one. I would hate for someone serious about pharmacy find their spot taken by someone who really wanted to do dentistry and then you come to a realization after taking a year of classes that dentistry was right for you and drop out. It happens often, so that is why I am making this statement based on your status and previous posts. Don't take offense to it.

You can still take the PCAT in October, that isn't too late for many schools that require it. With your GPA I wouldn't worry too much about spending a long time studying for it.
