Hi, I'm a Cali born and raised IMG using pathoma, uworld, and first aid as my only resources for step 1. However, I am very weak in biochemistry and physiology.
So my question is- are pathoma/uworld/first aid good even if you are weak in a subject? Do these resources have enough information for micro/pharm and especially biochem/physio?

Things I have done so far are I have annotated uworld into first aid and made pharm flash cards from first aid which I am yet to study, and now I am doing pathoma videos (which is another problem- I feel like I'm learning the material but fail to recall it later).

I hope to take step 1 by the end of the year. my cumulative uworld is only 39% I really dont know how to study for this exam.

help/advice anything is appreciated. ANYTHING.

I would recommend doing Dr. Najeeb for physiology, he's really good though it is very time consuming. For Biochem I would recommend just to watch Kaplan and know everything in your first aid for that section.

Other than that, I would recommend you stick with the resources you've mentioned, UFAP is pretty much the way to go

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

you dont need dr najeeb for anything, huge time sink, during school you can use it but for the step 1 kaplan is as basic as you can get as far as relevance for the exam and building a good foundation.

Biochem has been my Achilles heel too, but first aid is adequate, although u need to annotate with u world. For physiology, o think it'll b better to consult another book, like kaplan or brs physiology. I mean thats what m doing, m also img and these sources have been good so far

I am also IMG, also scored low (45%) on my first round of uWorld, annotated FA, read BRS physiology, Kaplan Physiology videos (for weaknesses), and did Pathoma, I was also having trouble recalling some Pathoma, so I went and annotated heavily my FA with it (specially in hard topics like Leukemias and detailed topic like Neoplasia). Now I am 80 % trough Kaplan Bank and I have Cumulative score of 58%. I feel a lot more comfortable doing questions and with the overall knowledge for this test.
Bottom line, keep moving forward there will be topics that you will have trouble with, make some adjustment and most importantly keep studying hard and I HIGHLY recommend Kaplan bank SPECIALLY for strengthening physiology. Good luck.
