First of all, I have to say that I so badly want to become a doctor, it's always been my dream.I am still a grade 11 student and will be sitting my IGCSE exams this June. I am aiming to get B or higher grades in Math, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and mayb ICT. I will choose Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as my AS subjects for next year. And will strive to get B or A grades. Then for A levels I will be choosing the three sciences and will be aiming for B or A grades once again. If I do get B or A grades for the above mentioned subjects will I be able to enter a decent university? At the moment I am aiming for University Of Sydney.

So umm can someone please guide me through the courses I should choose to end up a qualified doctor? The courses that I should take from the beginning of my university education and how many years it will take to complete each.

Thanks A LOT to anyone that helps. I really appreciate it.

Vim.

Depends on your overall GPA

Course: AP- Anything will definitely impress college admission

Are you from Austrailia?

If so, I can't really tell you about how your education will work.. However in the United States, your high school classes wont matter when it comes to applying to medical school, it will be how you perform in college.. Just try to do well in the classes you do decide to take and study for any standarized tests you have to take.

Unless you want to come to the U.S. for undergrad, most of the people on this forum will be unable to help you as the U.S. system is different from the aussie one.

If you want to come to US for undergrad then you shouldn't have a huge problem getting into some school. Schools love international students and if you have a reasonably high GPA (As and Bs) then you shouldn't have a problem.
