Help me out guys.

I am sitting here writing my paper, all that I have left is the discussion. I have nooooo motivation, I just keep thinking about christmas break. I am also having a lull in the lab, which is nice (waiting for stable cell line, following some transplants). I have all the data to write another paper when I am done with this one....I mean it is great to have two papers complete (data-wise), but ugh I just don't feel like writing. At all. I need to get this out before christmas. I have an abstract deadline in about a week as well, and would like to hand in the manuscript to my boss before I tell him that despite my supply allowance I will need some extra funds for the trip (damn that British Pound!).

Will someone give me a swift kick in the a$$ please??? 😀

You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours?

*KICK*

I'm well past the stage where an ass kick is of any utility whatsoever. Anyone got words of wisdom regarding robotics? If I have to calculate one more Jacobian I'm going to break out in hives.

Failing that, anyone got a car battery I can hook myself up to for a little jolt?

Don't worry. Soon the deadline will get alarmingly close and you can run on pure adrenaline for hours. Works like a charm every time.

If only there were no SDN, I think I'd have written at least two more papers last year.

Try sitting for 1 hour (no tunes, no internet) and writting one page each day (morning or night, your choice). Do this until you have several pages then do some power editing (not just fine tuning - if you're in a slump, you'll prolly have to add some stuff in and also do some re-arranging).

More than a little of my thesis got written this way (all of which we eventually submitted, so it paid off). It is much easier to make a crappy discussion better than to write a good one from scratch. Just get some words down on paper (or the screen).

Try it. Really.

If it doesn't work, Sears is having a sale on car batteries.
