Hello All,

I am a new sdn member. I decided to share something with you guys that bothered me. I applied to MSUCOM and some other schools and I was invited to interview at MSU which took place about a weekl ago. I am so excited about it!!! I told some "friends" where I work about it. Then later heard them discussing how I would never get in. They were angry that I got an interview or something, I am not sure. So now I realize most of the people I work with are nuts or something. I was sort of bumbed becuase I like where I work. I dunno. I haven't heard from MSU but it has only been a little over a week. I have my fingers crossed!

congrats on the interview...sometimes people that aren't going through this don't understand just what it takes. Most likely they are jealous because you are following your dreams and they are stuck just being themselves. Keep doing what you have to do, and when success strikes realize your accomplishment.

It's called HATERation... let the haters hate and make you work even harder at reaching your goals... and then sticking it in their face when you reach it. You wouldn't believe how much harder I worked because of all the haters... 👍

I am sure there are lots of haters where I work. I told one person about my acceptance... and half the staff knew by Lunch the rest knew by the end of the day. Even people who had left our group 6 month ago.

When I try to put together an after work drink, it takes 5 emails and and 20 face to face reminders. There is definitely geolousy... most are IMG who can't work in the country so they get pretty upset. Even though I have nothing to do with their unfortunat situation,I can understand why.

If you have the desire and the will.. F$#% em!

Congratulations on the interview. As I am sure you are aware, MSUCOM's admissions committee meets every Wednesday; so, dependant upon the date of your interview, you may or may not have been on their docket. Hang in there?you should hear from them in about a two-week turn around.

As far as your 'friends' are concerned, do not let the insecurities and failures of others bring you down.

bp1043, you might as well know this now - your getting into med school is a huge accomplishment considering the tens of thousands that dont get in every year. There are going to be ppl who may congratulate you on the outside but deeply resent you on the inside for making something of yourself while they are stuck in the same old deep rut. Believe me, I know.

DON'T LET THEM GET YOU DOWN!!!! Figure out who your true friends are and share this joyful news with them. Ignore the rest.

congrats on the acceptance!! you are going to be apart of a wonderful school. don't worry about what other ppl have to say about you, just treat them with respect and move on. usually ppl who are doing nothing with themselves have issues with ppl who are going somewhere and hate on them for achieving goals. just remember it really has nothing to do with you, its just their insecurities about their lack of accomplishments. good luck to you and enjoy the rest of the year before school starts. again congrats
