Hi, thanks a lot for reading this. I woke up overnight and tryed to fell back asleep but on the edge of it I opened my eyes and they were pointing upwards or moved around violently i am not sure - I didn't have control on them and couldn't see clearly, I tryed to move my body but couldn't, no muscle responded. I tryed to scream but only suceeded after about 5 second elapsed. I was totally conscious while that was happening, so i kinda freaked out.

I have a VERY limited biology knowledge so I though maybe it was epilespy, i check over the internet but the cases don't seem to match the problems I had experienced.

It could be due to the fact that being half conscious at the beggining (was falling asleep), I got scared by something imaginary for no reason for a split second losing my muscle controls then gaining full consciousness panicked keeping my fear from controlling my body?

Anyway thanks a lot for taking your time to read and respond to this question. I really appreciate it!!

It's most likely sleep paralysis, which is when you are either waking up or falling asleep and find that you cannot move. If the only thing that happens to you is an occasional episode of it, that's totally normal and many people do experience this at some time.

If it occurs frequently, if you find yourself to be very sleepy during the day, if you find yourself hallucinating when you wake up or are falling asleep, or if you have ever collapsed or frozen when startled, you may have narcolepsy, and should be seen by a sleep specialist. Otherwise, nothing to worry about.

Having said that, this forum is not officially for medical advice, and if you feel uncomfortable about it, you should see a doctor.

Hope that helps.
