YESSSSSSS! I passed boards!!!! 😀

Sorry for the largely useless post. I just found out today and want to sing and dance!!

Have hope pre-vets. If I can do it, anyone can.

For those taking it soon, I did 65% of vet-prep. I know people who did 20% or less and still passed. I hear that vet-prep is better than the zuku review. I only subscribed to vet-prep so I can't say for certain, but that's word out on the street.

For those curious about the test, it costs $500-ish, is 7.5 hours long and has 360 random questions that cover pretty much any species. Then you have to take your state test to practice and that's another few hundred dollars. If you're a 3rd year, take out a little extra loan money to make sure you can cover this.

Now off to celebrate with a root beer. I'm on the overnight shift tonight. Wheeee.

Congrats! Way to go! 👍

Congratulations Dr. Lailanni!! 👍

I passed too!!! :soexcited:

For those who are curious, I did all of VetPrep and did the VIN review. I need to go over material multiple times in different formats for it to stick (especially facts I'm never going to need again - I'm looking at you, pig and chicken diseases 😉 so I started earlier than most of my classmates. I also had our most time-intensive rotations this past fall so that also influenced my decision to start studying early. Know how you study best and plan accordingly.

Not every state requires you to take a state licensing exam in addition to the NAVLE. I didn't have to take a state exam for Michigan. Some states use the scoring portal that allows you to view your pass/fail status online instead of waiting for the mailman to deliver a letter with your pass/fail status.

That's so awesome! Congrats to both of you!!! 😀

Congrats you guys! As I nurse my sore arm from my rabies vaccine and stare down the barrel of a notorious, terrifying pathology class, this gives me a little hope and a light at the end of the tunnel!

Congrats to both of you!!!!!

(Just a random question. Did you guys get a bunch of ferret and rabbit type questions? I heard a few seniors talking about how surprised they were about how many they were asked, and was curious to see if that was an anomaly or not)

congrats V12ers!!!!!!!!!!!😀👍:highfive:

That must feel so great! Warmest congratulations...you're almost vets!

Congrats to both of you!!!!!

Don't give ferrets canine distemper vaccines.

That is the extent of my ferret-knowledge.

I passed too! So excited! Its all downhill from here...minus that finding a job part.

I did all of Vetprep. Started in mid summer, but didn't really start studying hardcore until September. I had to take the exam about the second day it was offered so I had wanted to start studying early. I thought Vetprep did a really good job preparing me, and its pretty much all I used

Re: ferret and rabbit questions-yes there are several. I think I had about 10-12 exotics questions, and rabbits and ferrets made up a lot of those. Its all the really basic stuff though-insulinomas and adrenal disease in ferrets, dental disease and uterine tumors in rabbits, scurvy in guinea pigs, etc. Nothing you have to worry much about. Way more difficult to learn all the poultry and pig diseases and keep those straight!

Way to go, it must be a wonderful feeling.🙂

So jealous!!!! Well done, guys!

congrats you guys! hopefully in 4 years i'll be in your position too 🙂

Congratulations, guys!!!!

My friend sent me the same text the minute he found out today too! Congrats to you all! That's so exciting!!! 3.5 years of hard work has finally paid off...now it's time for y'all to celebrate!
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Thanks guys!! And congrats to the other passers too! 😀

There were a few rabbit and ferret questions. The exotics section on VetPrep did a good job getting me ready for them.

I even had 1 question that was exactly (or almost exactly) a VetPrep question.

Hardest part for me was all the darn chicken and pig diseases. Those can now proceed to fall out of my brain 🙂

You'd be surprised at how many chicken questions i've had since starting work...

Congratulations!! There is hope after all!

CONGRATS to ALL!!!
